Men’s Second Team – Staff

Welcome to the Men's Second Team staff for this season.

Josh Hayles – Joint Head Coach

Josh, a former East Norfolk student (2017-2020) joined the coaching team in 2021 in the Assistant Coach role. Having competed in the AOC Sport Regional Championships as a gold medalist however due to COVID didn’t get to compete at National Championships.

Josh takes the Heach Coach role from the 2022-23 Season and will be responsible for all coaching this season at club and college with Brianne. Josh currently holds Level 1 and is working towards his level 2.

Brianne Dyer – Joint Head Coach

Brianne, a former East Norfolk student (2020-2022) joined the coaching team in 2021 in the Assistant Coach role. Having competed in the AOC Sport National Championships finishing in fifth position. She has worked hard to improve the women’s side of the club in recent years. 

Brianne takes the Heach Coach role from the 2022-23 Season and will be responsible for all coaching this season at club and college with Josh. Brianne is currently working towards her Level 1 but is also heavily experienced in coaching other sports.

John Ashmore – Captain

John joined Great Yarmouth & Gorleston Volleyball Club at the founding session having started volleyball in his early adulthood with gaining experience at higher level teams. John is the club’s Treasurer and used to coach teams at East Norfolk Sixth Form College and Lynn Grove High School.

John’s highest coaching accolades include taking the East Norfolk team to 4th in the British Colleges Sport Nationals and in the Men’s Cup to Quarter Finals.

John will be running the Men’s Second team alongside the coaching team.

Hayden Yates – Assistant Coach

Hayden joined Great Yarmouth & Gorleston Volleyball Club at the founding session having being introduced into volleyball just 6 months earlier whilst in High School. Hayden worked his way through his playing career as a libero as well as a setter and competed in National U18 Men’s Cup and British Colleges Sport as well as Norfolk Volleyball Association leagues.

Hayden took the role of Head Coach of the club in 2014 in which in recent years he is pushing the club forward to more modern and professional look. Currently holding Level 1 qualifications, Hayden is looking to progress up to higher levels. 

Hayden has stepped down from Head Coach role in 2022 and acts in an assistant coach role with the local league and college teams.
